Supreme Council for Agricultural Revival Endorses Plan of Department of Poverty Reduction

The Supreme Council for Agricultural Revival, in the meeting today under the chairmanship of Ustaz / Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, First Vice-President of the Republic has endorsed the Plan of Department of Poverty Reduction. And creation of job opportunities, presented by HE Amira Al-Fadel Minister of Welfare and Social Security. The minister said that the plan includes 26 projects focusing on groups of small farmers, women, graduate, herders and small producers, noting that the financing of these projects will be made the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Sudan and some UN agencies. HE pointed out that the plan was based on microfinance projects. The Minister for Welfare and Social Security has stated that the plan has identified the targeted states in the first stage, which are nine states, noting that the First Vice-President of the Republic has directed for the need to strengthen mechanisms for the implementation of follow-up of these projects besides setting specific time frame for implementation.
